Is ioncube required by Plesk?

gbotica

Regular Pleskian
Hi,

Just a quick question ... I run Plesk 12 on my servers and only host WordPress sites -- nothing else.

I'm thinking about removing the IobCube loaders, in an effort to reduce unneeded php modules.

Is IonCube required by any Plesk functionality, like APS or something else? I'm pretty sure it isn't, but thought I'd check.

Thanks in advance for your help.

As long as you don't disable Ioncube on the php CLI, then there's no problem ..

Thanks so much for your comment.

I was just going to comment out or remove the file at /etc/php.d/00-ioncube-loader.ini

The line is:

zend_extension=/usr/lib64/php/modules/ioncube_loader_lin_5.4.so

I assume that doesn't affect PHP CLI?
