  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Is Plesk compatible with AWS EFS drives?

Javier Fernández

New Pleskian
Hello,
I've been looking in the documentation about compatibility of Plesk (for Linux) with EFS drives on AWS virtual server, but so far I've been unable to to find about it, or how to tell Plesk, at install time, to put the data folders on a custom location (in the EFS drive). If that's not possible, I'll have to move these folders, which seems to be less clear than doing that for Windows.

Can somebody tell me how to do that, or at least point me in the right direction?

Best Regards

Hi Javier Fernández,

If I understood correctly, EFS it is some variation of NFS, isn't it?

Code:
How is Amazon EFS different than Amazon S3?
===========================================
Amazon EFS provides shared access to data using a traditional file sharing permissions model and
hierarchical directory structure via the NFSv4 protocol. [...]
(c) Amazon Elastic File System (EFS) | Cloud File Storage | When to Choose EFS

Code:
NFS Shares Support
==================
Plesk does not officially support the use of NFS shares for storing vhosts directories. This configuration
was not tested and can be used at your own risk.
(c) Software Requirements for Plesk

I've tried it a year ago, it's not suitable for Plesk nor any other panel, you'll face mounting issues + it's not cost effective.
EBS is your friend.
