Issue Issues with Wordpress or Plesk?

Xavier12

Regular Pleskian
Hey guys,

It seems we are having non-stop issues with the new Wordpress 4.6.1 and Plesk. For some odd reason when adding a new page/post, Wordpress keeps overwriting an existing page/post with the new one, which means no new pages/posts can be added. Even editing existing pages gives this problem, it never saves/updates the page/post. This has been happening for a few customers. Another issue is that in order to see the changes made, you constantly have to refresh the page EVERY time to see the updated content. This never happened before and I am not sure if this is a cache, PHP, Wordpress and or a Plesk issue. No changes have been made from our end, there are no cache plugins installed, and the Wordpress was installed directly through Plesk Wordpress installer. The only solution to fix this seems to be to downgrade the Wordpress to the previous 4.4 version.

What could the issue be? Please advise, thanks.

Specs:
Cloudlinux 6.8
Tested on php 5.5.38 and 5.6.27
Wordpress 4.6.1
Mariadb 10.0.27

Hi Xavier12,

The wordpress - package ( installed from the application vault and packed by Plesk can be downloaded at

The latest Wordpress can be downloaded at

Pls. consider to download both packages and extract the zip - files and compare both, afterwards inspect files that differ and answer your question for yourself, if Plesk and it's wordpress - package could possibly be a reason for your described issue. ;)

Next step is to compare the current content from your domains with the described issues with the content from the Plesk - package and again, inspect files that might differ, to investigate possible malware, or manual changed files, which could cause your described issue(s).

Your next step would be to increase the log - level of your depending domains with issues ( I suggest a "debug" - level here ), so that the output in your webserver - logs are more verbose and detailed.
Now try to reproduce the steps, which are causing issues as described and inspect your log - files.

Hint:
Pls. keep in mind, that content from wordpress is stored in your depending database. It will be usefull to check the depending databases for inconsistencies.
