Hey all, here is my story...
* I had a working 7.54 system
* I backed up
* I upgraded to 7.6
* All my sites wanted a password
* I tried the usual (change password, reconfig the vhost and so on) it all failed
* Fromt he domains panel, the "Check Permissions" function worked. It actually fixed the problem I was stunned.
Anyway, the moral is... it's worth a try!
