• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Launching phpMyAdmin from Plesk CP

Hi,

From the Plesk CP we should be able to launch phpMyAdmin, but for some reason it doesn't want to know. Whenever I click the DB Webadmin icon the page just recycles back.

The phpMyAdmin software is definitely loaded in what is now the webroot of the server: /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/domain_name/httpdocs/phpMyAdmin and the config.inc.php file looks OK to me. The password and username are the same as the Plesk admin login. Plesk happily created the MySQL database and database user. Trying to access phpMyAdmin from a browser via http://www.domain_name/phpMyAdmin/ also fails.

MySQL seems to be working fine because the db was created OK and within Dreamweaver I can connect to the database, but because I can't run the .sql backup we took before loading Plesk I can't add tables to the db. Everything was working beautifully until loading Plesk. This was a fresh install on a server that had never run any version of Plesk before.

The server is running FreeBSD v6.0

Any help with this query would be much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.
Paul.

Update:

Bloody popup blocker killing the window instance for phpMyAdmin. All solved.

Bloody hell I spent hours searching for a fix! :D

Update 2:

Even after turning off all popup blockers in I.E. 6 it still fails to open the phpMyAdmin window.

Launching CP with Firefox causes no such problem and works fine.
