• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question Lets Encrypt auto renew with external DNS possible?

bob231

Basic Pleskian
Server operating system version
CentOS 7
Plesk version and microupdate number
18.0.17
Since a while each year the acme.. TXT dns record have to be updated for Lets Encrypt SSL certified domains in Plesk. Its a suffer each day domains not working after expiring and some work and planning to get it updated. Therefor it would be awesome and time and stress save if this process could be done automatically. Is this possible?

A couple of options:
  • Automate DNS syntonization between your Plesk server and your DNS provider. You'll probably have to create/develope this your self.
  • Switch to an external DNS provider for which there is an extensions available already. LIke DigitalOcean DNS, Amazon Route 53, Microsoft Azure DNS or Cloudflare.
  • Don't use Lets Encrypt for securing wildcards. The DNS validation is only used when securing wildcards.
