  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Limit of 500 pages in web presence builder

Andrew Daniels

New Pleskian
Hello!
Is there any version of the web presence builder where you can create more than 500 pages?
I just recently found out that you can’t create more than 500 pages in this builder, but I need more for SEO promotion.

Hello, @Andrew Daniels As far as I am aware, there's no limit on the number of pages you can create on a particular website, but you could experience performance issue when there are lots of pages. Are you encountering any particular error/messages that indicates you hit a limit?

Yes, a message appears: 500 pages created, limit - 500 pages.

Thank you for the additional details. I will confirm with our team and update you in the upcoming days.

Thank you for your patience. There's indeed a predefined limit that was introduced a while ago. Apologies for the misunderstanding. You should be able to adjust it in /usr/local/sb/config:

[general]
maxPagesNumber = 500

However, please note that our team does not, generally, recommend setting the limit above 500 as you might experience performance and operational issues while editing or browsing the website. Please consider removing old pages that are no longer needed (if any).

Thank you for reply!
Where i can find this file:
/usr/local/sb/config
I cant find confif file in hosting.
Only server administrators can access and modify the file using SSH. Do you have administrator access with root privileges to the server? If not you'll have to ask the server administrator or provider if they can increase the file limit for you.

Thank you very much for your answer! Also, are there any other versions of the constructor that do not have such a page limit by default? And is it possible to transfer a saved site from Parallels to another platform without any special changes?
The hosting company responded that they do not change such settings in the config, since this will affect other clients as well.

Also, are there any other versions of the constructor that do not have such a page limit by default?
Not to my knowledge. The file limitation is the default setting, regardless of the version of the web presence builder. However you could consider running your own (virtual) server with Plesk. That way you'll have full control over the server and set the file limit for the web presence builder to anything you like.

And is it possible to transfer a saved site from Parallels to another platform without any special changes?
I am not sure. I think you can, but perhaps @Sebahat.hadzhi can confirm this.

@Andrew Daniels If you are referring to a migration from the Plesk server to another server it is technically possible to move the website files and the website itself should work. However, you won't have access to the GUI backend. In other words, if you want to perform any changes you will need to manually edit the code. If you are asking whether you can import the website to another CMS, like Sitejet, WordPress, etc., unfortunately, this is not possible. The only alternative is to rebuild it from scratch.

Another question arose, for example, I continue to make sites with Parallels, what is the risk that the Parallels constructor service will stop working or being supported / updated, and I will have to make all the sites again?

I further discussed the matter with our team and at this point there is no ultimate plan for Web Presence Builder's depreciation. They are currently working on introducing a migration alternative for WPB to Sitejet. In any case, you as a WPB end-user will not be left without any alternative if Plesk decides to deprecate the builder in the future.
