• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Limiting Application Vault Apps

Limiting Application Vault Apps Subjectively

I am currently subscribed to a VPS Server using Plesk 751. I am currently offering hosting services to resellers and end users.

Is there any way that I can select, control or manage the applications available in the PLESK application vault such as phpbb forum, postnuke, etc., so that I can selectively allow or disallow the installation or usage of those applications by my resellers and end users.

At present, all my endusers and resellers have the option to install them which I do not want that. The only way is that I uninstall those particular applications from the server, which means everyone else will not have that privilege.

Basically, some of our clients will have the option to install and use those applications but others will not !

Kindly help !

It's been a while since this post was listed, and I believe this is a topic that SW Soft should act upon immediately. Domain users should only have the rights to install packages that are assigned to them, just as resellers can only view and install packages assigned to them, and default such as all and nothing should be in place as well.

Currently, what I'm planning is an area to add or remove the Site Applications button completely, when installation of a package is requested by a reseller only. If any one else has any better ideas, I'd be happy to hear them.
