  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Logo Distortion

New Pleskian
Hi,

We have a user whom uploads an image as a logo, and the dimensions are changed from 68x68 to 320x320. Please see the below images as reference:

Good:
http://bradmarkle.com/sb/good1.jpg

Bad:
http://bradmarkle.com/sb/bad1.jpg

As you can see, the bad image, due to the large logo size, distorts the page.

The default logo for the template is 68x68. The "bad" image was uploaded twice, both 68x68, once .jpg and once gif, but both times the builder resized the logo (and added background to it) to 320x320.

The template in question is:
ID: av-198
Category: Travel

Any ideas?

Hi Andrey,

Thank you for taking the time to look into this.

I've read the link you provided for more information, however I believe that it does not takes care of the issue at hand.

The custom logo that I uploaded had the same exact dimensions as the default logo that is included with the template, so theoretically there should be no problems at all.

The logo I uploaded is here:
http://bradmarkle.com/sb/uploaded_logo.jpg

Like I said, the dimensions are the same as the default logo. After I uploaded it, the results are this:
http://bradmarkle.com/sb/uploaded_logo_converted.jpg

The link you supplied said the following:
* If an image being uploaded is smaller than supposed by the site design template, Wizard displays it as it is.
* If an image being uploaded is bigger than supposed by the site design template, Wizard resizes the image keeping the aspect ratio.

But, what does it do if the "image being uploaded is the same as the supposed by the site design template" ?

Any further suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Brad M.

banner distortion also

Hi

I have also been having a problem with getting a custom banner to fit the entire 'banner template' area. I have been trying to get this resolved for months now and am getting nowhere. Latest Hotfix 7 has been installed , etc.

Code has been changed to the 'keep_asis', however banner is still 'shrunk down' when uploaded and only fills a portion of the banner template area.

Can this problem be looked into as a matter of extreme urgency as my website has been looking extremely unprofessional for months now due to a banner 'stuck in the middle of nowhere' with grey areas showing behind it. It just looks ridiculous and, as the banner has been scaled down, the copy and graphics has also been 'distorted' and is fuzzy.

WHAT IS THE FINAL SOLUTION TO FIX THIS BANNER PROBLEM FOR ALL OF US LONG-SUFFERING USERS OF PLESK SITEBUILDER??? I am sure there are many others who are getting disillusioned with this program. It is very frustrating...
