Macromedia Contribute

I have a customer who uses Macromedia Contribute to update a daily sailing schedule on thier website. When they use the ftp feature built in to Contribute, they can not log into thier website. If they use dedicated FTP program they can log in and transfer files with no problems. Has anyone else come across this problem?
