Question mail dns entries <domain> and mail.<domain> with DANE, autodiscover and mx

I'm trying to understand the usage of mail.<domain>, <domain> for mx, DANE and autodiscover.

• Autodiscover https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/12387742719639-How-to-manage-mail-autodiscover-in-Plesk, will set the SRV records to <domain>
• DANE will create TLSA records for mail.<domain>, e.g _25._tcp.mail.<domain>.
• MX will be set to mail.<domain>.

For my understanding all of them should be set to either mail.<domain> or <domain>, but mixing should not be done. How should this be configured in the best way?
Disabling Autodiscover and manually configure SRV records?
Or is it recommended nowadays to try to have <domain> instead of mail.<domain>. Easy to change for mx, but how to do this for DANE.

Additional question is there already support for adding additional DANE records for e.g. https 443?
