  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Mail forwarding gets forwarded but mail delivery error is also received

A mail loop could be caused by several things:

- is domain2.com an alias for the domain1.com, with mail aliased
- is [email protected] also forwarded in a way that would bring the message back to [email protected], either directly or over several redirects?

Hi,

Actually no, only domain1 goes to domain2.

I'm also getting the mail delivery error if I email directly to domain2.

So I think there's something wrong somewhere I can't diagnose.

A sieve filter? Can't think of anything else ATM...

Could you please post the exact error(s) you're seeing? The relevant parts of the /var/log/maillog might help too.

Here is the mail delivery error:
------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the mail system at host srvurb01.urbaman.it.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster.

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the attached returned message.

Ok, problem solved.

Thing is, I had migrated mailboxes from domain1 to domain2:

1) Activated the forwarding
2) Copied the mailboxes from domain1 to domain2
3) This process also copied the .qmail files (with forwarding configs) from domain1 to domain2

This caused domain2 also being forwarded to domain2 itself, even if Plesk UI did not show the configuration.

I cleared the .qmail files of the wrong configs, and everything got working.

Thank you very much for your time and patience.
