Mail - one-to-many

Hi

Hope someone can give me a good advice. I do have a database with at lot of customers including their emails ( 130.000 ). All these customers advertise on our newsletter.
How do I email newsletter to them on a safe and reliable way without getting the mailsystem give up or the server break down.

Can I just using, the mail funktion from php send 130.000 mails or can I include many or all emailaddresses in the bcc or...

What to do to make it work the best.

bcc aint no good anymore, like 3% of our bcc-newsletters get bounced now, many people block them now.

as for php, set up a cron job, send them it batches for like 250 / 20 secs. that should run nicely
