• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hello all together,

we have got a web server with a linux distrbution running with plesk 7.5 reloaded.

On this server are some hosts. For one of this hosts runs a separate mailserver .

Have a look at the DNS settings for the domain.

212.227.xx.xx / 24 PTR domain.de.
domain.de. A 212.227.xx.xx
domain.de. MX (10) mail.deilmann.de.
domain.de. NS ns.schlund.de.
domain.de. NS ns2.schlund.de.
ftp.domain.de. A 217.x.66.xxx
mail.domain.de. A 217.x.66.xxx
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The problem is, that I can't send emails from our server to the mailserver of this client. Ever the mail returns without delivering to the receiver.

Someone told me that we have to switch off the mail-settings for this domain.

Here is the failure notice from the returning mail:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at Servername.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<[email protected]>:
This address no longer accepts mail.

--- Below this line is a copy of the message.

--------------------------------------------------------------

How do I have to change the settings that the mails will
be delivered to the client???

Where do I have to change the settings???

Hope that you understand our problem.
Thanks for response.....

Greetings
Jörn

Your MX record should look like this:

domain.de. MX (10) mail.domain.de

Your mail A record already points to the proper mail server.

I'm sorry....

the settings are correct...

The MX record looks like this:

domain.de. MX (10) mail.domain.de
--------------------------------------------------------

Our client can send and receive emails from everywhere,
but not from clients who are hosted on the same web server.

Our domain is on the same Server, so I get this message:
--------------------------------

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at Servername.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<[email protected]>:
This address no longer accepts mail.
---------------------------------------------------------------

So I can't contact our client via email. That's really terrible.
Maybe I have to shut down the email daemon for this domain, but how do I have to do that????

Thanks

Best regards
Jörn
