Mailman - not emailing

mailman is not working with the mail lists...

people are sending in posts and they arent being sent to the moderators for approval. when we check the pending posts they arent showing up for hours at a time. then SOME will show up for approval but no emails for the moderators. the sign up emails are working sometimes....

something doesnt seem to be working.....

need help.
