  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Mailserver accepts/rejects receiving emails by (not listed in rcpthosts) randomly

Hello

I have a very strange problem with mail service(qmail). It has configured using Plesk 8.3 on a Cent OS 5.2.

I just installed it and as a test tried to register a domain and check every feature. Mail service works right in sending email to popular free mail services (yahoo, gmail), but strangely rejects from receiving email from them from time to time. [bold]It may accept the email one time, and reject next time. But rejects more often.[/bold]

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

[email protected]

Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 553 553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1) (state 14).

I've even tested it from local network; tried to send email to users connecting from localhost, but It happens. One time it accepts the email another time rejects the same email(which had accepted a minute ago) with one specific error; "that domain isn't listed in my allowed rcpthosts".

Any clues or same experiences?
Looking forward to your replies

Regards

I have had reports of something similar from several of the users of the machines I administer, which use Plesk 8.3.0 on CentOS 4.x. When I have tried to investigate the problem by examining /usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog, though, I have not been able to find anything there regarding the address that failed. The error reported to me have been in the form of:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients

Subject: (message subject here)
Sent: (mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm ?M)

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'(Either a name or email address here)' on (mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm ?M)
553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts(#571)

One of those reported to me as sent to multiple recipients, and while I could find log entries for the messages that went through, I could not find a trace of the address listed in the return message.

Is that fairly close to your experience?

No that was not my case.

I should say, it is working OK! No changes, but no more errors!
