  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Manual installation of extensions

Hello

Is there a way to manually install extensions ? By manually, I mean unzip the extension file and copy all the files at the right place. I've installed Plesk with Ubuntu 14, and I can't install extensions without running into an error message (meta.xml corrupted). I already had this problem some time ago, but never found any solution even with the help of someone of the Plesk support. I've tried to install an extension from within the admin interface and with the command line after downloading it on my server.

Thank you

Hi LaurentR2D2,

if you would like to have your extension listed in the "Extensions catalog", you will have to submit it. Please read and follow:

Non-listed Plesk extensions can only be installed by using the installer.

Thank you for your answer. I'm not trying to install my own extensions. I've downloaded and unzipped an extension from Plesk ( https://ext.plesk.com ) and I'm trying to install it manually because the installer keeps failing on my Ubuntu system and I never found any way to fix that even with the help of the support of Plesk.

Hi LaurentR2D2,

sorry... I misunderstood you here. I thought that you were rebuilding the extension and tried to install it over the extension catalog.

Edit:

In order to list created extensions, you will have to register them as well. Please have a look at the "extension Utility" for further informations and how-to's.:

Great. Thank you. Like this I will be able to install my extensions :)
