Hello Plesk community,
I would like to share a new free extension I've developed for Plesk: Plesk Backup Rotation Manager.
The extension was created to provide greater flexibility when managing backup retention and rotation policies alongside the Amazon S3 extension.
Once the cycle ends, a new full backup is automatically started and the process repeats.
This approach allows long-term retention strategies while keeping storage usage under control.
Instead, old backups are removed through the Amazon S3 extension itself, helping maintain consistency between Plesk's backup records and the remote storage contents.
It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or maintained by the Amazon S3 extension developers. It is intended solely as a companion extension that enhances backup rotation and retention management.

- Every 7 days
- Every 14 days
- Every 21 days
- Monthly cycle
- Automatic restart of backup cycles after completion.
- Configurable retention periods:
- Cycle + 7 days
- Cycle + 14 days
- Cycle + 21 days
- Cycle + 30 days
- Cycle + 45 days
- Cycle + 90 days
- Automated cleanup of expired backup sets.
How it Works
A backup cycle starts with a full backup and continues with incremental backups until the selected cycle period is completed.Once the cycle ends, a new full backup is automatically started and the process repeats.
This approach allows long-term retention strategies while keeping storage usage under control.
Backup Cleanup
To avoid synchronization issues, backup deletion is not performed directly in AWS S3.Instead, old backups are removed through the Amazon S3 extension itself, helping maintain consistency between Plesk's backup records and the remote storage contents.
