  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Could you please clarify why do you think that Mariadb 10 is supported by Plesk 12?

Funny...I was just going to post a question regarding this same question, thanks for posting it Reda! :)

I'm in the same exact boat; I just installed CentOS7 w/ Plesk 12 and MariaDB 5.5 on my new OVH server and I was thinking of upgrading to MariaDB 10 too.

To upgrade to MariaDB 10, I see I have to first remove MariaDB 5.5 first but when I do this I don't want to mess up Plesk; so when Plesk 12.1 comes out and I install it on my server, I will be able to upgrade to MariaDB 10 without messing up Plesk because these dependencies?

Or will Plesk 12.1 come with MariaDB 10 so when I upgrade to Plesk 12.1, MariaDB 10 will get automatically installed too?

Thank you!

What currently works is to install MariaDB 10 _before_ you setup Plesk 12. Running here without any problem (using the official MariaDB repository).

Ok, I already installed and setup my server with Plesk 12 / CentOS 7 / MariaDB 5.5; so I don't want to re-install everything again.

I don't need MariaDB 10 right now, all I'm trying to see is when Plesk 12.1 comes out I will be able to easily upgrade to MarisDB 10 from Plesk?

If you upgrade to MariaDB 10 on a running installation and removing 5.5 and some Plesk components nothing is lost.
After the installation of mariadb 10 just reinstall Plesk. Normally the databases won't get deleted.

Hi redhell,

Thank you for the reply!

Ok, so by removing MariaDB 5.5 my website databases won't get deleted?

If I don't want to manually to this MariaDB upgrade, my other option would be to wait for Plesk 12.1 to come out and just upgrade to MariaDB 10 from within my Plesk account?

Thank you, again!
