Question Migration data from Horde to SOGo extension

bit

New Pleskian
Server operating system version
Debian 12
Plesk version and microupdate number
18.0.68
Hi together,

does anyone know if there is a how to do (best practice) a migration all the data from Horde database (calendar & contact items) to SOGo Database?
I know that we could export calendar & contact items from Horde web interface and import this in SOGo interface but this
is very laborious if you have a lot of accounts..

Next question is:
What happens after removal from Plesk in April next month? Feature Deprecation Plan
Will this extension be automatically removed after a Plesk update? This would be a disaster!
Or is Horde just unsupported then but works further for a period of time?

Any info will be appreciated! :)

regards

Hello, @bit . If you have Horde already installed on the server, it will not be forcefully removed after April. You may continue using it for the upcoming months at your own risk (not advisable as Horde is no longer under active development). Regarding your question about moving Calendars and Contacts, unfortunately, at this point, we do not offer an automated tool.

Hi @Sebahat.hadzhi,

thanks i'm relieved then that horde will *not be* deinstalled automatically by the Plesk updater.

For the migration i figured out that you can use Horde & SOGo together (parallelly). That means we can easily export calendar items from Horde and import they via SOGo web interface. Because SOGo has another URL suffix like Horde in Plesk.

Do you know if the SOGo database is already in the Plesk daily backup?

thanks & regards,
Norman

No, not yet, Norman. It is in our team's to-do list for backup improvements, but I cannot provide any ETA.

Hi @Sebahat.hadzhi

ok thanks for that. Hope that this will be implemented soon!

In the meantime i figured out that you can backup SOGo with its own backup tool:

sogo-tool backup /backuptarget ALL

Have a good time & regards
Norman
