• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Migration to new server with external mysql db server

Migrating some domains from a 9.3 plesk server with localhost mysql, to a new 9.3plesk server with an external mysql db server (set to default).. databases for migrated domains are added to localhost, not the external db like they should be.

Seem logical the migration agent should be recreating the new databases on the external db server.. is this a bug?

And yes I know I can manually import the db's.. but then the database will not likely appear under the clients account in the GUI.

I have requested developer's clarifications regarding this problem. I will update thread with their answer as soon as I receive it.

Would love a quick fix for this. Need to move many hundreds of sites next week.

Was this ever addressed in 9.5.x?

Need to be able to migrate between servers and have it respect the external db
