  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Modify Plesk's Mail Account Settings from a custom web app?

Hello,
I would like to build a custom web app that allows me to present limited and simple options to a mail user to create an account for themselves. After the account is created, they would be sent an email with their login info to Plesk to fully admin their account.
I'd be using Ruby on Rails for development and can read and write to SQL, etc. if given access.

This would be running on a Dedicated Virtual server run by my hosting company and I would have reseller access to Plesk.

Is this even possible? Would my reseller account have a database separate from my hosting company's Plesk Admin database? Is it likely that my hosting company would allow me to modify it outside of Plesk?

Am I missing a simpler way to get the same job done?
Thanks,
Dan
