• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Question MSSQL Migration Doubt.

Anoop

Regular Pleskian
Server operating system version
Windows 2019
Plesk version and microupdate number
18.0.47
i have a server with windows 2012 R2. Plesk for Windows 18.0.47

i have the following MS Databases on my server

Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) 10.52.4000.0
Active Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER2012) 11.3.6020.0
Active Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER2014) 12.1.4100.1

my customers are already using all these mssql databases.

Now, i would like to install windows 2019 or windows 2022 server editions with MSSQL 2017 or any latest database.

My doubt is when i migrate all accounts from old server to new server, the database will also transfer.

For Eg: MSSQLServer2012 Data to MSSQL2017 or MSSQL2019

or i need to install old versions of mssql or not.

you can use win2022 and sql2019, no need to install old versions.
I have done same, and everything went fine with transfer tool.
