  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

MySQL Remote

Fabio_Hansen

New Pleskian
Good afternoon.
I am looking to add a mysql external source to my plesk.
so far no difficulty.
My question is if I remove the mysql server where the currently plesk. I have to say to the panel get the information (psa, roudcube, horde) on the remote mysql to invez mysql local server?

@Fabio,

The official Plesk documentation has good and elaborate information on this topic, please have a look there.

Kind regards....

My question is not how to create a remote mysql, my question is if I remove the local mysql instance of my server Plesk. If this is possible, how do I proceed to the plesk seek information from databases (psa, roundcube, horde, etc.)?

@Fabio_Hansen,

Plesk will connect to the database specified in the configuration settings and does so gracefully, as long as the external database is specified properly.

In short, you will have to do nothing if an external database is specified and Plesk is pointed to that external database.

The official documentation tells you how to connect to the external database.

Note that you should always try it first in a test environment, not in your production environment.

Kind regards....
