MySQL stopped suddenly

My MySQL server on a SLES 10 sp2 box suddenly stopped this morning.
This problem just start a serie of different problem on that box: spamassasin, antivirus and other services was not able to work anymore and seem to "froze" the server.

The access to the console was not possible at all and I just had to swith off/on the box.

Now everything is up again but of course I need to know why this problem occured.

I found basic info in /var/log/messages but nothing about MySQL itself. What is the best way to investigate my problem?

Please, check the following locations for the MySQL logs:

# /var/log/mysqld.log
# /var/log/mysql/mysql.log

Absolutely nothing relevant in these files.
