Guys,

I just installed plesk with mysql5.1 (the one that yum install)

I have a need to run another application on the same server as plesk is running. This application require mysql55

Is it possible to upgrade from mysql5.1 to mysql5.5 ? Please let me know.

According to Release Notes http://download1.parallels.com/Ples...ls-plesk-panel-11.0-for-linux-based-os.html#5 you can use MySQL 5.5 version.

Ok, but when I first try to install plesk with mysql55 already installed on my centOS it failed. Because plesk uses yum to install and yum repo still installing mysql5.1

When I upgrade it to mysql55 I need to install third party repo. Do you know if that could mess up plesk installation?

In case of old mysql version after Plesk installation you may safely upgrade it to 5.5 version from any third-party repo if OS vendor repo does not contains this version of mysql.
