name server?

i think i have created a name server but how do i know if its working?

From a DOS or Linux command prompt, type:

nslookup

Then you will get a > prompt. There type the IP address of your new server.

Then at the next prompt, type the hostname you wish to resolve. When you're done, ctrl-c to quit.
