• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Need Help Configuring DNS (subdomains)

Hi Everyone,

Here's my problem. I only have 1 domain which points to this server (domain.com). I am attempting to point a subdomain (subdomain.domain.com) to another server on our network. I simply tried creating an A record pointing subdomain.domain.com to the NEW server's IP. However, when I attempt to access subdomain.domain.com via a browser or even a ping, the IP that is returned is from domain.com, now what I entered as the A name.

Any thoughts? Am I doing something wrong?

THanks

or could someone direct me to a post where this type of error may have been explained?

You need to create another forwarding domain with xxx.domaincom that will redirect to the link that you prefer

can't i just add a DNS entry with an A Name? I've done it this way in the past using old Plesk software.
