  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

New suexec 10.3 microupdate is broken!

HostaHost

Regular Pleskian
Is some form of testing process really that difficult? The new 10.3.1 release of the microupdate for suexec installs suexec with permissions 644 which of course breaks every site on the server using cgi scripts. It also changes the group membership from apache to root.

For those whose sites are now down, run this as root on your server:

chgrp apache /usr/sbin/suexec
chmod 4510 /usr/sbin/suexec

What version of OS? Version of autoinstaller? How this microupdate has been installed?

Hello, Hostasaurus.Com.
Thanks for your report.
There was an error in the Parallels Installer specific for version 3.10.1. Parallels Installer configs for version PP 10.3.1 have been changed to require version 3.11.0 or higher. So all new microupdate installations will be performed with fixed Parallels Installer version.

To repair already broken suexec on Parallels Panel 10.3.1:
RHEL/CentOS:
# chmod 4510 /usr/sbin/suexec /usr/local/psa/suexec/psa-suexec
# chown root:apache /usr/sbin/suexec /usr/local/psa/suexec/psa-suexec

SuSE:
# chmod 4510 /usr/sbin/suexec2 /usr/local/psa/suexec/psa-suexec2
# chown root:www /usr/sbin/suexec2 /usr/local/psa/suexec/psa-suexec2

Debian/Ubuntu:
# chmod 4510 /usr/lib/apache2/suexec /usr/local/psa/suexec/psa-suexec
# chown root:www-data /usr/lib/apache2/suexec /usr/local/psa/suexec/psa-suexec
