Hi to all,
I have try plesk for the first time in this day.
(First I try plesk 8.1 on linux on a virtual server but I'm not able to install php5 mysql5. I believed that this version were available under the updater. But I'm wrong and I'm not able to install software on linux so I have decided to try Plesk on Windows Server 2003).
I have some question about the plesk software on windows:
1) The upgrade from plesk 7.6.1 to 8.1 is free ?
2) Plesk team reccomend to upgrade to plesk 8.1 ?
3) Why from the admin panel when I click the updater button there are not update available ?
4) Which version of php is installed with Plesk 7.6.1 on windows ?
5) If I would like to install php5 and mysql on my machine the best way is:
-a) Upgrade to plesk 8.1 then replace the installation of php and mysql used by plesk (may be this version are available from the updater for windows ?)
-b) Install new separate instance of php5 and mysql5 and in the IIS site managment tell IIS to use a different php interpreter for a particular site.
each type of help is very appreciate.
Sorry for my english, I'm italian.
Bye
