Hi everyone - I'm a brand new Plesk user, so please be patient with what could be a very basic enquiry.
I've got Plesk 8.0.1 Linux installed on a Virtual Private Server. I have a domain set up and am able to add files to it via Plesk's file transfer dialogue and can view them through a browser as normal once uploaded. So far, so good.
In Plesk I created an FTP user name and password but after hours of trying have not been able to successfully connect via FTP to upload files.
I have tried different FTP software (not that my original software had ever caused me any problems), tried turning my computer's firewall off and checked the firewall module in Plesk which is apparently permitting FTP connections.
I did a load of poking round on the 'net and turned up this:
http://help.godaddy.com/article.php?article_id=1587&topic_id=281
Went through that which suggests that the server is indeed responding to FTP requests.
What on earth is going wrong? I'm at a loss for an explanation but, as I've said, I'm very short on knowledge of Plesk.
Can anyone suggest anything I should look into that I might have missed? It would be hugely appreciated.
