  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Not sending emails

New Pleskian
Hi there,

I have setup the stock install of plesk on a server that all dns records resolv correctly. I made sure the SPF record was correct also. But for some reason when I setup a domain i can receive emails but cannot send them, is there a step I have missed or a list of common checks I can perform?

Thanks

Can you tell us the error message you get? Also maillog help: tail -f /usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog

ok that gave me some indication I see that this is the problem but where do I fix this:

Jul 10 07:45:31 ns1 courier-imapd: Connection, ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1]

Jul 10 07:45:31 ns1 courier-imapd: LOGIN, [email protected], ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1], port=[49672], protocol=IMAP

Jul 10 07:45:31 ns1 courier-imapd: LOGOUT, [email protected], ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1], headers=0, body=0, rcvd=

Note I have changed the DNS to mydomain.de just for this post purposes.

ok how about this:

connect from localhost.localdomain[127.0.0.1]

Jul 10 08:25:02 ns1 postfix/smtpd[44600]: BB3AD415F3: client=localhost.localdomain[127.0.0.1], sasl_method=DIGEST-MD5, [email protected]

Jul 10 08:25:02 ns1 postfix/cleanup[44604]: BB3AD415F3: message-id=<[email protected]>

Jul 10 08:25:02 ns1 /usr/lib64/plesk-9.0/psa-pc-remote[44412]: handlers_stderr: SKIP

Jul 10 08:25:02 ns1 /usr/lib64/plesk-9.0/psa-pc-remote[44412]: SKIP during call 'check-quota' handler

Jul 10 08:25:02 ns1 postfix/qmgr[44440]: BB3AD415F3: from=<[email protected]>, size=562, nrcpt=1 (queue active)

Jul 10 08:25:02 ns1 postfix/smtpd[44600]: disconnect from localhost.localdomain[127.0.0.1]

Here seems all OK. When you are trying to send mail, what kind of error you get? See if not require login and password to send out mails.

So I checked the smtp auth and this is not stopping it. Strange thing is I get no error message but the email just stays in the queue.
