• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question notification about delayed licence update

Thomas Weiland

New Pleskian
I get every month a mail, that my license could not be updated, but no specific error message is in the mail.
When I update the key using the webinterface, it works fine. But it is not working automatically. I receive the mail every day. After a few days I update it always over web.

In the panel.log I found this:
ERR [panel] keyUpdate Result desc: Not valid XML. no element found
ERR [panel] KeyUpdate Result desc: cURL cannot communicate with license server: https://ka.plesk.com:5224/xmlrpc (195.214.233.80): Server returned nothing (no headers, no data)(52)
cURL cannot communicate with license server https://ka.plesk.com:5224/xmlrpc (): Couldn't resolve host name(6)

Is this a known issue, or is there a workaround for this?

I use Plesk Ony 17.5.3 Update #20 on Debian 8.9

On a second machine running CentOS I don't get this message, there the key will be updated automatically.
