Official port list for plesk

Shanats

Basic Pleskian
Is there a official list of ports require to be open for plesk?

If there is such, where can i find this list?

Here you go..

Plesk HTTPS requires port 8443
Plesk HTTP requires port 8080
Plesk Updater requires port 8447

Thanks for your reply Lloyd_mcse, i was however more looking for a official complete list, including ftp 20,21, http 80, https 443 etc. While most of the ports for most of the services installed with plesk, i was wondering if there is a complete list.

Plesk HTTP requires port 8080
Plesk Updater requires port 8447

In a attempt to keep ports not used closed using apf firewall, i made some adjustments and notice plesk update now fails. according to the list above autoinstaller uses port 8447 TCP, does this port needs to be open for both in and outbound. Error log was clear that the failure was due to connection issue.

The plesk port list provided at http://kb.parallels.com/en/391 is not so complete and or clear. Since plesk uses specific ports besides the norm of http 80, ftp 21 etc, that list should be more clear in terms of what to allow for outgoing TCP as well, and should also specify though i doubt and i could be wrong that any port plesk related is using UDP, if any UDP port needs to be configure it shuould also note that as well as noting it for in and out.

Anyone with more precise detail on proper port setup on Plesk 11.5 running on centos?

Hi,

well Port 80 has to be enabled outbound at least to autoinstall.plesk.com
Other than that I think the KB Entry is actually complete :)

Kristian

I was already able to resolve the auto install error.

Hower, to be more precise about what i meant is that, the kb should be more specific about which ports to be open for incoming and which for outgoing, especially for services plesk rely on. When configuring a firewall, it may be best practise to not have ports open in direction it does not need to be and also between the two dfferent protocols TCP and UDP

Thanks a lot danami, i commend you on that specific / precise approach, an approach parallel should have taken. The only way to configure a firewall properly for sure is to know the ports applications are using, along with protocol and direction they use.

Shanats we have an article in our Plesk firewall product information which should help you out. It shows you what direction each port should be open for. If you see any mistakes just let me know:
