Ive just noticed in my logwatch that i have a large amount of entries similer to
crond[18767]: pam_loginuid(crond:session): set_loginuid failed opening loginuid

COuld someone translate this or show me where i should be looking. the server appears to be working ok, however the number of times this shows up is quite conserning!
 
I've also encountered these errors. Here's how I turned off the error messages in Fedora Core 5:

Edit the file /etc/pam.d/crond and comment out the following line:

session required pam_loginuid.so

Then reboot. Worked like a charm for me.
 
I'm also getting this from other services, my main concern is what this file actually does and what its functionality is.

and is removing this file safe? and cause any security issues?
