• Hi, Pleskians! We are running a UX testing of our upcoming product intended for server management and monitoring.
We would like to invite you to have a call with us and have some fun checking our prototype. The agenda is pretty simple - we bring new design and some scenarios that you need to walk through and succeed. We will be watching and taking insights for further development of the design.
If you would like to participate, please use this link to book a meeting. We will sent the link to the clickable prototype at the meeting.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • The ImunifyAV extension is now deprecated and no longer available for installation.
Existing ImunifyAV installations will continue operating for three months, and after that will automatically be replaced with the new Imunify extension. We recommend that you manually replace any existing ImunifyAV installations with Imunify at your earliest convenience.

Parallels Plesk Panel Firewall Module

Regular Pleskian
I Need Help Getting a Software Firewall on the system.

For many years the Firewall module was installed as default. (why has this changed)

The instructions say
Login as administrator to the Parallels Plesk Panel.
Click the Modules shortcut in the navigation pane > Manage Modules > Add New Module.
Select a module package file, and click OK.

HOWEVER, when I click browse, it goes to my computer. I would like to to use the one included in Plesk 10. (it does still have one, correct?

Other instructions I found in the Admin Guide say:
Go to Settings > Firewall (in the Security group).
Under Tools, click Switch On.

I Do not see this option in setting.

Please help, the firewall module is very important (critical), what am I missing?
Did WWD install it wrong during setup?

guide

Yes, that is the page I am referring to. Either, plesk is installed wrong, or something is missing from the guide on installing it.
I will try the /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/modulemng --install --file=/opt/modules/firewall.rpm
to see if that file exists and will install.
Brad

firewall file missing

This is what I get
[root@ip-72-167-54-98 ~]# /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/modulemng --install --file=/opt/modules/firewall.rpm
error: open of /opt/modules/firewall.rpm failed: No such file or directory
Is the firewall module no longer included?
Brad

What about correct method or modules installation? Just run /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/autoinstaller and select 'Additional Plesk modules' in menu there and then Firewall module for installation.

Will try on new server

Thanks IgorG,
I have decided to switch to different server company that seems to offer support for Plesk, I will try that when I get the new server (unless it is already loaded). I am excited to try the new company.
