Plesk Obsidian 18.0.72 Update #3
Hello, I am trying to change password for an admin account and a customer account, the problem is the same on both.

Initially I changed password in the dedicated page, when clicking ok I got the little green box saying the password was changed successfully, but when I try to loggin whit the new password it does'nt work, I can only log with the old password.

I tried changing it again, using the old password in the "Old password" input and the same thing happen.
I also tried to change password using console with "plesk bin admin --set-password -passwd <newpwd>", The console print out that the password was successfully changed but I still cans loggin only with the old one.

Finally now I can still loggin but the page to change password no longer reconize any of the past password in the "Old password".

Can someone help me ? Should I just use use the forgot your password button ?
Thanks for your help, sorry for my Inglish I'm not native.

Where, exactly, are you changing it? There are 2 main different accounts that a user can have not including the main admin account and any additional admins/users, which is the customer portal access and the system user login.
  • The default admin account is simply called admin.
    • This is the one that gets reset when you use the command plesk bin admin --set-password -passwd Sup3rC00lN3wP@$$w0rd.
  • Additional Administrator Accounts
    • This is found under Server Management > Tools & Settings > Security > Additional Administrator Accounts
    • This is if you want to give your internal IT team access to the full panel (or a restricted level if you configured the Restricted Mode Settings).
    • It's in here that you can change the additional admin account for logging into the control panel.
    • Read more at Using Additional Administrator Accounts
  • Customer Accounts (Resellers falls under this too as the process is pretty much similar, I don't have a reseller instance configured atm to test but the steps is pretty much the same as Customer Accounts, just under Resellers instead)
    • This is located under the Hosting Services section as Customers (or Resellers if the user in question is a reseller account).
    • Clicking on the customer (or reseller) name here takes you to their domains and subscription view, where you can also choose to change the login info (meaning their login name to the panel or even their password).
    • Read more at Managing Customers
  • System User account.
    • This is the user account that's used for the main FTP login and how permissions are set on the file system.
    • This account does not have panel access.
      • As mention, this is used primary for FTP and permissions. Will also be used for SSH if enabled for a domain's hosting setting.
    • Auto created when creating a subscription and can set a password at the time, can be changed later in the hosting setting of the domain.
  • Additional users to a subscription.
    • This are additional users that can have limited access to a subscription.
You can read more about the different accounts and managing them over at Customer Account Administration

Basically what I'm getting at is that there are many different accounts so the question is, which kind of account are you trying to reset? Because it's possible that you're not resetting the correct one for the purpose you think you're doing.
