Password Protected Directory issue

Hi everyone, I am having an issue with the Plesk 10 password directories .... I have successfully password protected a single directory in my control panel, but if a person inputs the wrong password, it seems that their whole IP is blocked for several hours... I have tested this myself, cleared all cookies/cache and still the same... the only way that the page can be viewed is through a proxy like pagewash (dot) com.

Some times even if the password is entered correctly this still happens.. I have tried to contact my hosting company and search the forumn for a similar scenario.. i apologize if i have missed the answer.. but could someone please help me figure this situation out??

Strange. As far as I know Plesk hasn't such behaviour for password protected directories.

sorry for not replying sooner.. the issue apparently isnt with Plesk (as my hosting company suggested) it is with the IIS log files.. apparently the logs keep note of which IP addresses come onto the site, and they keep record whether or not the IP's have access credentials... it took a little bit of researching to find out!

I appreciate your reply though.. now i need to look up how i can clear out those log files
