• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question Password suggestions with longer passwords

cool_sh

Basic Pleskian
Hi,

is there a possibility to change the suggested passwords inside plesk when creating a new ftp account for example to use a longer / stronger one?

I know that there is a global setting for the password quality from very weak to very secure but the levels are pre-configured. But the settings have a bit of the problem with understanding in our customer base:
Why have to force a user to use a password with small and upper letters, special chars and numbers with at least 8 characters if he wanted to use a password only with letters and numbers but 20 characters long. The last one is not allowed but wuite more secure than 8 digits.

So back to the initial question: Is there a possibility to suggest very strong passwords but not to change the global setting for which passwords are allowed in general? Or can I configure the global settings to not use the standard pre-configured?
