Performance / 6000 Domains on 1 server

Hello,

can someone please provide some experience about hosting a large number of domains with plesk?

The situation: I have 5940 domains on this machine. 95 % are only redirections with no content on the server, the rest have some content but only static html pages and no php etc.
Two days ago I updated from 9.5.2 to 10.4.4. Prior to this update the control panel was slow but still okay.
Since the update some areas of the control panel are very, very slow. This includes the domain list (but not the subscription list) and the control panel of an individual subscription.

During the "critical" tasks in the control panel mysqld consumes 100 % cpu power of one core. If I don't use the control panel the server is idle.

I already checked and optimized all mysql tables with -maybe- a little performance increase.

System information:
virtualized with vSphere 4
2 Cores of a Xeon(R) CPU E5440 @ 2.83GHz
3,5 GB RAM
Operating system: CentOS release 5.7 (Final)

6000 domains ?
I have 1300 domains on my machine. (Bi Quad 2,33Ghz, 16Gb ram 4 SAS 10K).
Apache use 180mb by process but with 6000 domains, it must be much more.

But the biggest problem, its apache when it restarts.
It takes 30 seconds to be available again...

I'm in 10.3 and with 1300 domains, the panel is not slow.

What MySQL are you running and are you running it with a default /etc/my.cnf or somethign customised? I'd guess that since your sites are all static and MySQL is only ever used for the Panel that you've never needed to optimise the config, and thats all thats needed...
