PHP and Apache

When I started out with Plesk 6 I was in a happy world. Apache and PHP worked together as expected. Over several upgrades to 7.5 reloaded php no longer runs as the user, instead it runs as apache. cgi's work, but php doesnt.

The problem this causes is that users use php to upload a file. Instead of being owned by the user, it's owned by apache. They cannot edit/delete/etc the item via ftp.

I have a client with a new Plesk 7.5 reloaded instance.. it has the same problem.

How do I fix this?
