• Halloween is coming! To celebrate the occasion, we dusted off a couple of old skins, and even created a brand new one (Pixel).
To get into the festive spirit, install the Skins extension.
  • The new Python extension is now available. It allows customers to deploy and manage WSGI-based Python applications on their websites directly from Plesk.
  • The Plesk Mobile apps for iOS and Android and the Plesk Mobile Center extension have been deprecated, and are no longer available for new installations. In Plesk Obsidian 18.0.84, the Plesk Mobile Center extension will be removed from servers during the upgrade, and the Plesk Mobile apps will lose their server management features.
  • The Social Login extension has been deprecated and will be removed in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.84. After that, it will no longer be possible to log in to Plesk with a Google, Facebook, GitHub account, or with a passkey. Plesk usernames and passwords, as well as logging in with a WebPros Account, are not affected.

Question Standard setup folder structure

Johannes Kingma

Basic Pleskian
Server operating system version
4.18.0-553.157.1.lve.el7h.x86_64
Plesk version and microupdate number
Shared hosting, not disclosed
For some reactive fe / PHP be I've made some great projects in this structure:

Code:
/project
  /config (.env files and stuff)
  /data (sqlite databases if needed)
  /htdocs
    / (fe deployment html/compiled js/css...)
    /api (be deployment PHP)
  /uploads (project needed file uploads
  /logs (be log destination)
/backup (backups, db dumps, uploads, config)

Template would work but hosting should now point to /project/htdocs as root, and not to /project.example.com. This can be done manually during of course. I just wonder if it is possible to create all projects in this way, and most importantly have php and apache write its log files to the /projects/logs folder instead of the default /logs/project.example.com folder.

If I'm no making sense or if this was already asked. I'd be happy to take some pointers.

This is theoretically possible if you have full administrator access to a server by modifying the default configuration. Since you indicated you are ons a shared hosting server I doubt your provider is willing to make those changes, since it would effect every (newly added) domain to the server. So it would effect other users/customers too.

I am not completely sure if it's possible to change the default log directory. That might not be possible at all.

If you need more detailed instructions on which configuration to change, let me know.

Thanks. and no surprises really. it would be an amazing extension. Keeping site data and logs together would already be a great boon.
