Question Plesk 17.5.3 with MySql Community 5.7.X on Centos 7

fabrizioi

Basic Pleskian
Hi all,

I would like to share my experience, also to know if someone can confirm that is approach is correct.

Long story short: I need Plesk with mysql-community insteadof MariaDB on my new dedicated server.

So after 3 attemps to do this, I have success with this approach.

After install CentOS 7 X64 build 1708 minimal, ssh to the server.

Code:
yum update
yum install net-tools
yum install mc
yum install wget

rpm -Uvh --nodeps http://autoinstall.plesk.com/PSA_17.5.3/dist-rpm-CentOS-7-x86_64/contrib/plesk-mysql-server-17.5.3-cos7.build1705170317.16.x86_64.rpm
wget -q -O - http://www.atomicorp.com/installers/atomic | sh
wget https://dev.mysql.com/get/mysql57-community-release-el7-11.noarch.rpm
yum localinstall mysql57-community-release-el7-11.noarch.rpm
enable mysql 5.7 repos
yum install mysql-community-server
service mysqld start
grep 'temporary password' /var/log/mysqld.log
mysql_secure_installation
./plesk-installer
service firewalld stop

During setup I receive the error "MYSQL Service name not found", the PleskBootstrapper stop execution and Plesk microupdates process run.

After that the installer redirect me to the success output

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Is very intresting, I believe, especially for test propupose.

If the above in my post can be correct I prefer that way, I'm not a great supporter of Virtualisation Technologies

Thanks
