Application Vault Issues...

1) What Works?

2) What Doesen't?

3) What needs to be done to get an application to run correctly, (php config, .htaccess, patches, etc.)?

...Why should we all be wasting our time when someone else has already spotted and resolved the problem? Surely, I am not the only having these problems???

Please specify: Application/ver, OS/ver, sympthom, etc...

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Problem w/new install -- osCommerce 2.2-MS2.

Plesk: psa v8.1.0_build81061129.22 os_Debian 3.1
Operating system: Linux 2.6.8-3-686
PHP Version: 4.3.10-18
OsCommerce: 2.2-MS2 - installed from ApplicationVault

Problem: -- noticed at visitor entry --
Warning: session_write_close(): Your script possibly relies on a session side-effect which existed until PHP 4.2.3. Please be advised that the session extension does not consider global variables as a source of data, unless register_globals is enabled. You can disable this functionality and this warning by setting session.bug_compat_42 or session.bug_compat_warn to off, respectively. in /var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/httpdocs/catalog/includes/functions/sessions.php on line 106

Correction Attempted:
Modified File... httpdocs / catalog / .htaccess -- Enabled… php_value register_globals 1

Result: Warning is no longer displayed, but other problems seem to exist...

...any other suggestions as to what else needs to be changed?
