  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk 8.1 for Windows: site preview and authentication problem

Hi.
I'm installed Plesk 8.1 on Microsoft Windows 2003 sp1 but when I use "Site Preview" option, a new window appears with an authentication window.
I tried with domain and ftp login/password with no success.
I installed Plesk 8.1 in a PC that's NOT in a domain.
How could I resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance,
Davide

P.S.
If I point my browser to open site url, I visit the site successfully!

Other informations:
sshigin told me to check <plesk>\isapi folder permissions, but I didn't understand if I have to grant access to that folder to every plesk user I've created.
The site has static dummy html pages and no asp/php scripts.

Thanks in advance

Solved!
In <PLESK>\isapi\sitepreview.dll -> Properties -> Security I added <MACHINE_NAME>/IUSR_<MACHINE_NAME> (Read&Execute and Read Perm.).

Best Regards,
Davide

It is best Method

Go to IIS => Web Sites => Default web site => Right Click on sitepreview.dll and go to Properties => File Scurity ( Tabe ) => Authentication and access control ( Edit ) = > Active : Enable Anonymous access => and then OK all

check now site preview : ( Sample ) http://IP Address/$sitepreview/Domain Name

What if your permissions are correct and yet you still get:

The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Please try the following:

* Make sure that the Web site address displayed in the address bar of your browser is spelled and formatted correctly.
* If you reached this page by clicking a link, contact the Web site administrator to alert them that the link is incorrectly formatted.
* Click the Back button to try another link.

HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found.
Internet Information Services (IIS)

Technical Information (for support personnel)

* Go to Microsoft Product Support Services and perform a title search for the words HTTP and 404.
* Open IIS Help, which is accessible in IIS Manager (inetmgr), and search for topics titled Web Site Setup, Common Administrative Tasks, and About Custom Error Messages.

Any ideas on how to resolve this one?

Regards,

Dale E
