• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hello !
I tried some weeks ago to patch plesk from 9.2.3 to 9.3 but was not able to do it. I did not really pay attention to this but yesterday I tried again and again was not able to patch.

In the update panel (Plesk panel) I have two lines with the releases "Parallels Plesk Panel 9.2.3" and "Parallels Plesk Panel 9.3.0" but none of these work.

I get things like :
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).
ERROR: autoinstaller: Error in execution of DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive

apt-get said the following:
Reading package lists...
Building dependency tree...
psa-backup-manager is already the newest version.
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libpam-plesk: Depends: psa-9.3.0 but it is not installable
psa-migration-manager: Depends: psa-backup-manager (= 9.3.0-debian4.0.build93091230.06) but 9.2.3-debian4.0.build92091009.18 is to be installed

psa: Conflicts: psa-mail-driver-common (< 9.3.0) but 9.2.3-debian4.0.build92091009.18 is to be installed

I tried some commands to "debug" like :

#dpkg -l psa
ii psa 9.2.3-debian4.0.build92091009.1 Plesk Interface and Utilities

#dpkg -l psa-*
un psa-9.2.3 <none> (no description available)

ii psa-api 9.2.3-debian4.0.build92091009.1 Plesk API (common files)
[...]
iFR psa-backup-manager 9.2.3-debian4.0.build92091009.1 Plesk Backup manager utility.
[...]
ii psa-updates 9.2.3-debian4.0.build92091009.1 Dependency package for Plesk hotfixes
ii psa-watchdog 2.0.3-debian4.0.build92091009.1 Watchdog is a module for monitoring services on a UNIX system.

# apt-get -f install
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
E: The package psa-backup-manager needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.

For the last example, I have not "plesk" in the sources but when I add the line, the only solution is to remove plesk (and "free" 2Gb)

Help :(

Don't tell me you have no idea :p
This issue never happened before with other people?

You know, it is very difficult to say what is wrong there for such issues without direct access to server. It can be only some ideas but it is not useful without real checking... I can say only that something is mixed, broken, etc. there :)
I think that with such complex for reproducing and investigation problems much more better and effectively contact support team.

Here the "apt-get" version with the right sources.
Honnestly, I'm totally lost for I don't know what "broke" that backup manager or at list the dependancies...

#apt-get install psa-backup-manager
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
psa-backup-manager is already the newest version.

You shouldn't use apt-get for installing separate Plesk packages. You should use autoinstaller and then analyse autoinstaller's logs from /tmp if you meet any dependences problem.

autoinstaller3.log does not bring anything else than the errors I've mentionned previously.

Always this :
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libpam-plesk: Depends: psa-9.3.0 but it is not installable
psa-migration-manager: Depends: psa-backup-manager (= 9.3.0-debian4.0.build93091230.06) but 9.2.3-debian4.0.build92091009.18 is to be installed.

And dpkg -l
iFR psa-backup-manager 9.2.3-debian4.0.build92091009.18 Plesk Backup manager utility.
ii psa-backup-manager-vz 9.2.3-debian4.0.build92091009.18 VZ oriented Plesk Backup manager scripts.

No other real problem.
+ I'm not able to install "Plesk Backup Manager" only, I'm forced to select "Base packages of Plesk" to update from 9.2.3 to 9.3 which would not work because of "Plesk Backup Manager". Any way of reinstalling this component manually?

+EDIT
The funiest is that the auto-save (backup tool) works perfectly

I have the same problem ...

error: Failed dependencies:
psa-mail-driver-common < 9.3.0 conflicts with psa-9.3.0-suse10.3.build93091230.06.x86_64

Any help to be expected?

Suse 10.3, try to update from Plesk 9.2.3 to 9.3

Cheers, gl

Problem was solved thanks to the help of my "webhoster".
They "simply" solved it by using "apt-get update" and "apt-get upgrade".

But sadly I can't assure you it will work for you.

Thanks LoïcA.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. I have Suse 10.3 and according to YAST everything is up-to-date. To me it looks like a conflict in the Parallels modules itself but, of course, I wounder, why not more people complain.

Cheers, Gerhard
