PLesk back / Restore failure

I'm having problems using the plesk backup manager to restore or roll back domains.
Essentially what is occuring is that the plesk restore process will not work if the files and or databases I am trying to restore are already in existence.

Ie - I am wanting to roll back a domain, I can't do so unless I first delete the files or databases I want to roll back.

anybody else had this issue or know why it is occuring?
