What's the difference between the two? Is a Plesk client local to a Plesk server, where as an expand client can access multiple servers?

    Hello,

Expand Client is a multi-server client. This means the Expand Client can have instances at any Plesk server registered in the Plesk Expand. The instance of Expand Client is the Plesk Client. Expand Client can have domains at several Plesk servers and can manage domains from one point - Expand CP.

You see these documents for more information:

chapter Creating Expand Client Account of Getting Started guide
    Client's guide

    best regards,
