I am having an issue with Wordpress sites installed on my AlmaLinux 9 Plesk server. As a standard, we normally install WordPress sites into sub-directories as part of our overall security strategy. I know some people will consider this unnecessary or even pointless. This is something we have done now for many years, changing the WordPress settings for the site Address URL to https://www.mysite.com/myfolder and the Site Address URL set at https://www.mysite.com and then modifying the root index.php file to change the path of the WordPress install to /myfolder/.
When we do this and then login to the control panel for the users account and select the domain. The image thumbnail preview displays the site with a 404 error and clicking on the preview link results in the same. Plesk appears to try and load the site preview from the https://www.mysite.com/myfolder as opposed to https://www.mysite.com.
Is there a way around this to keep the site in a sub-directory but have plesk display the preview image and preview site correctly?
Many thanks for your help
