• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

What can I do to solve this error? Any help is appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance!

Debian 8 was end of life a long while ago. Plesk does not support Debian 8. You need to upgrade to at least Debian 9. The best way to do this is to backup your Plesk installation using the Plesk full backup tool, then create a new server with a current operating system and restore the backup from your old server to the new server.

I do not recommend the Migrator tool in this case, because I am not sure whether this still works between a Plesk on Debian 8 and a new Plesk on a newer operating system. You can try it, though. As long as you don't delete anything on your old system, things cannot get worse.

Wow, had two funny rodeo rides tonight again with plesk :) Updated my two debian 8.11 servers from 18.0.28 #3 to debian 9.13 and Plesk 18.0.35. Essentially was that I found a mirror where 18.0.28 was available (Index of /plesk-201203/) After updating my plesk.list with that I could start the procedure. It broke at some point and then I had to replace the line with deb http://autoinstall.plesk.com/pool/PSA_18.0.29_3728/ stretch all and start upgrade again, then it went through.

OK, one server screw up php. There had been old handlers in the list, it couldn't be updated through php_handler: PHP Handlers - there had been old config files in the plesk directory for php handlers /etc/psa/php_versions.d

1619947994080.png

After I removed the php5* files, updated the php handlers list and stopped all running fpm processes I could reassign the webs to the correct handler and everything started to work again.

Hi there, I didn't get everything of what was said above, I also have Debian 8.11 and Plesk 18.0.28 Update #3 and I'm not managing to update for 2 years now and I thought my plesk was broken.
If I understood all well, Debian 8.11 is no more supported ? is there a workaround? can I easily upgrade my Debian install to a higher version 9 or 10?
Thanks for any answer available
